Academic research study

India Business Leaders Survey

An academic study by researchers at London Business School, MIT and Harvard University on how Indian businesses are governed, managed and grow.

About 15–20 minutes · Fully confidential · Ethics clearance REC1101 (London Business School) · Free customised peer benchmark report for participants

About the study

How governance and management shape long-term firm development.

The survey asks businesses about their governance structure, management practices, aims and aspirations, and social embeddedness. It compares practices across promoter-led and professionally run enterprises to identify what structures best support long-term firm development.

Findings will help academics and policymakers design evidence-based policies and governance frameworks suited to Indian firms, and help business leaders examine their own practices against the broader corporate environment.

Throughout the survey, “promoter” refers to the founder(s) or controlling owner(s) of the business and, where applicable, their family.
